EIGHTY jobs have been made available by an Argyll and Bute-based holiday park operator as it gears up for a busy summer for staycations.
Argyll Holidays said it is looking to fill a variety of seasonal and permanent positions across its eight resorts, amid the expectation that the pandemic will bring about long-term change to holiday-making habits.
The recruitment drive, which includes openings in roles ranging from qualified lifeguards to spa therapists, comes after family-owned Argyll invested £1 million to revamp its branding ahead of the current season. The new branding is visible across its parks, accommodation and restaurants.
The firm’s Andrew Wright said: “We expect that the impact of Covid-19 on domestic tourism will be long-term and that’s given us the confidence to recruit for so many roles across all eight of our holiday parks.
“Those working in Scotland’s tourism and hospitality industry have faced the biggest challenge over the last year – and while many are returning to some sense of normality, many in the sector are still struggling. With staggering unemployment figures among students in particular, we’re committed to supporting young people looking for careers in tourism. We also offer an opportunity for those who are interested in a career change.”
