The finalists have been announced for The Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2026 in association with Prime Property Auctions, showcasing the developments, projects and property professionals driving innovation across the sector.
The winners will be revealed on Thursday, September 24, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, where hundreds of property professionals from across Scotland will gather to celebrate excellence in development, design, construction, regeneration and property services.
For more than 20 years, The Herald Property Awards for Scotland have showcased the very best of the industry and remain unique in that every development and property entry is visited in person by members of the independent judging panel.
This year's visits took judges across Scotland, reflecting both the quality and diversity of projects being delivered throughout the country.
John Morris of Prime Property Auctions said “Being headline sponsor of The Herald Property Awards is something we’re incredibly proud of at Prime Property Auctions. The standard of this year’s finalists is a brilliant reflection of the talent, ambition and innovation across Scotland’s property industry. Reaching the finalist stage is a fantastic achievement in itself, and every business and individual shortlisted should be extremely proud of the work that has brought them here. We’d like to congratulate all of this year’s finalists and wish everyone the very best of luck on the night. We look forward to celebrating with you.”
Finalists have been announced across a broad range of categories, including Apartment of the Year, Commercial Regeneration Project of the Year, Small Family Home of the Year, Large Family Home of the Year and Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design.
Among those shortlisted for Development of the Year, sponsored by Newton Property Management, are Village View by AMA Homes, Queens Gate, Strathaven by Bancon Homes, Northbridge, Glasgow by Keepmoat and Laurieston Living by Urban Union. Meanwhile, Affordable Housing Development of the Year, sponsored by NHBC, features projects including Whiteford Avenue, The Crossings, South Queensferry and Shawbridge Arcade in Pollokshaws, demonstrating the continued focus on delivering high-quality homes and thriving communities throughout Scotland.
Stephen O'Neill, Chairman at Newton Property Management and a member of this year’s judging panel, said: "I've loved this. Stimulating to see the competitiveness created by The Herald Property Awards for Scotland amongst the impressive house building fraternity across all sectors. Competition very obviously has engendered a culture of creativity. This leads to a better home for the housebuyer or tenant, and a much improved Scottish housing base. From the single-unit independent to the national housebuilder and through to housing associations, the quality of Scotland's newbuild housing stock has gone through the roof over the last 20 years. I am truly impressed."
Dionne Wilson Sim, Business Development Manager at Newton Property Management, sponsor of Development of the Year, said: "I loved being a part of the judging process for The Herald Property Awards for Scotland and to say the competition was tough is an understatement. What was particularly special for me as a judge was visiting a number of the entries to gain a real sense of the place and its story. It's been truly inspiring and I'm looking forward to celebrating with everyone on the night."
The Sustainable Community Impact Award, sponsored by Lowther, recognises projects delivering lasting benefits for local communities. Shortlisted within this category are McGregor Bowes and Springfield Properties, whose entries demonstrated a strong commitment to social and environmental impact. Laura Henderson, Managing Director of Lowther, said: "I'd like to congratulate all the finalists in this year's Sustainable Community Impact Award. At Lowther, we see every day the difference that well-designed homes, thriving neighbourhoods and strong local partnerships can make to people's lives. That's why we're proud to sponsor an award that recognises organisations delivering lasting social, environmental and community benefits. The quality of entries highlights the innovation, commitment and ambition being shown across Scotland's property sector, and we wish all finalists the very best of luck."
The awards extend beyond bricks and mortar to celebrate the businesses supporting Scotland's property market, particularly those operating within the estate agency and residential lettings sectors. Categories such as Best Local Estate Agency of the Year, sponsored by Prime Property Auctions, and Residential Letting Team of the Year, sponsored by SafeDeposits Scotland, recognise the organisations helping clients navigate an increasingly complex housing market.
Carol Bradburn, Head of SafeDeposits Scotland, added: "Congratulations to the businesses shortlisted for Residential Letting Team of the Year and to the finalists across all categories. We look forward to celebrating your achievements on 24th September at what we know will be another fantastic event delivered by The Herald Property Awards for Scotland team."
The awards will also recognise excellence in categories including Luxury Home of the Year, Renovation & Conversion of the Year, Show Home of the Year and a range of other residential, commercial and professional disciplines. With finalists now confirmed and anticipation building ahead of September's ceremony, attention turns to who will take home the coveted trophies when the Scottish property sector gathers in Glasgow next month. Guests attending the event will also enjoy a red carpet welcome supported by Upload Abode and receive the official networking booklet, supported by Redwood Marketing.
