CORONET Cleaning has invested tens of thousands of pounds on equipment to set up a new specialist division as part of a push to reach £1 million in turnover.
The Cumbernauld business bought a Skyvac to allow it to clean gutters and high ledges as well as a new van, pressure washer and a chewing gum remover in order to expand its service offering.
The Skyvac allows an operator on the ground to clean areas up to 50 feet off the ground.
A full high definition camera also allows customers to see the work has been carried out effectively.
Scott Wylie, founder, said: “You are negating health and safety issues but also giving a really good service which can be recorded as well.”
The recently purchased chewing gum remover is also attracting interest from a number of customers.
Mr Wylie said: “This uses gas canisters and turns the chewing gum into a starch residue which we then brush off the ground and rain water washes it away. It is an incredible piece of kit.
In addition Coronet has invested in a reach and wash window cleaning kit which allows glass up to 55 feet high to be cleaned from the ground.
Mr Wylie said: “There is no need for ladder work or abseiling.”
Mr Wylie said the business, which began trading in 2010, had a turnover of around £750,000 in the year to March 31.
He expects that to increase to more than £800,000 during the current year and wants to reach £1 million shortly after. Staff numbers are expected to top 80 before the end of 2015.
The business took a five-figure sum of investment from each of UK Steel Enterprise and the West of Scotland loan fund earlier this year.
Mr Wylie says the company has invested around £30,000 in recent months expects to spend further on new equipment before the end of this year.
