GLASGOW gaming studio Brilliant Skies has highlighted gross sales of more than £2.5 million for its ‘From The Depths’ offering, which will be released on September 26.

The game, which enables players to build war machines ranging from submarines to spaceships and features battles on land, at sea and in space, has been in development for several years and has already sold about 300,000 copies.

Nick Smart, founder of Brilliant Skies said: “Any game developer will tell you that creating, and coding needs to be a labour of love in order to get through the tens of thousands of hours spent building something like this.

“I actually counted up a few weeks ago how many variations of the game we went through in order to perfect it for the full release – it was 826 versions...The feedback from players has been that they like the fact the game has such a long shelf life ”
