Autumn brings fresh new tastes for the palate to enjoy, and one of the best is pear.

Mix the pear juice and the vodka together in a pitcher or shaker. Then break open the vanilla pod, and gently scrape the seeds into the vodka juice mix. Add the cup of ice and give a strong shake, before pouring into cocktail glasses over more ice and serving with a sugared rim.

This Vanilla Pear Pearl is best enjoyed shared with loved ones alongside something slow-cooked and succulent.

Serves 4

Ingredients

12 oz (1.5 cups) pear juice - fresh if possible

6 oz vodka

1/2 vanilla bean, seeds scraped

sugar, for rim

1 cup ice, plus more to serve over

Method

1 Mix the pear juice and the vodka together in a pitcher or shaker.

2 Then break open the vanilla pod, and gently scrape the seeds into the vodka juice mix.

3 Add the cup of ice and give a strong shake, before pouring into cocktail glasses over more ice and serving with a sugared rim.
