THE Scotland-Russia Forum hosts a production of Dead Souls at the Scotland-Russia Institute in Edinburgh for the Fringe.

The comic play by Nikolai Gogol and will be performed on selected dates throughout August.

Artful times

SCOTTISH artists including Calum Colvin and David Faithful have a series of workshops and talks throughout August and September to support the Artful Reflections exhibition taking place at Traquair House near Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders. The exhibition is a partnership project between Traquair and Edinburgh Printmakers and features a series of new installations and accompanying print works by seven contemporary Scottish artists, who have created works that reflect the house's rich and complex heritage.

Points of order

WORK by George Wyllie, who died earlier this year, has gone on display at the Scottish Parliament. His sculptures have been installed in the Parliament's Garden and tours are open to the public over the next few months.

Steamboat events

GLASGOW'S Riverside Museum will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first commercial steamboat operation in Europe next month.

The Riverside Museum has a series of events planned to celebrate this anniversary including a book launch, gallery talks and an outdoor tour, entitled The Clyde in 1812.
