Jazz at Hospitalfield begins its twenty-sixth year of promotions at the Arbroath venue on Saturday, February 20 with Glasgow-based Parisian swing-styled quartet Rose Room. Ken Mathieson’s Classic Jazz Orchestra appears on March 12, with a tribute to the late piano giant Oscar Peterson featuring pianist Brian Kellock and Danish guitarist Jacob Fischer following on April 23.

The London-based Atéa Wind Quintet will be the next attraction in Pollok House Arts Society’s Sunday afternoon concert series on Sunday, February 7. Comprising Alena Lugovkina (flute), Anna Hashimoto (clarinet), Ashley Myall (bassoon), Chris Beagles (horn), and Philip Haworth (oboe), the ensemble is widely regarded as the leading British wind quintet of its generation and won a Best Performance prize at the 2015 Carl Nielsen Festival in Denmark. The music, which will include works by Mozart, Carpenter, Canbini, Françaix, Bridge, and Nielsen, begins at 5:30pm.
