Kieran Hodgson - star of BBC One’s hit  sitcom Two Doors Down, one of the 50 Funniest Comedians of 21st Century (Telegraph) and ranked number nine on The List’s Hot 100 2023 -  is set to bring his Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated live comedy show Big in Scotland across the country this spring.

The tour includes a huge, hotly-anticipated date at Glasgow’s historic King’s Theatre on 29th March as part of Glasgow Comedy Festival

With the show’s return to Scotland, fans everywhere will get another chance to see the “hilariously and thoughtfully written” (The National) hour which already sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe, Aberdeen, Dunfermline’s Outwith Festival, Glasgow, St Andrews and Perth last year. Now, starting in February, Kieran will bring the show to Shetland (24th Feb), Dunfermline (29th Feb), Melrose (23rd March), Skye (27th March), Inverness (28th March), Glasgow (29th March) and Aberdeen (31st March).

Big In Scotland is the story of being a not-quite foreigner in a not-quite foreign country. In 2020, Kieran moved to Scotland to film Two Doors Down. Who would he be now? Could he become someone totally different - better, even? Was he now obliged to give ill-informed opinions about independence to English members of his family? What was the difference between a stooshie and a rammy, and could Kieran discover it in time to not make an idiot of himself while trying to make new Scottish friends?

At a time when numerous obituaries for the United Kingdom are being written, Big In Scotland takes a look at the non-newsy aspects of the England-Scotland relationship and makes the political both personal and daft. Kieran learns Gaelic (a bit), climbs Munros (a lot), ends up starring in a Scottish sitcom (sort of - he’s a secondary character). He meets Prime Ministers and panto stars and Weegies. He asks himself and the people of his new home whether he belongs, though it turns out the answer is perhaps less important than how you ask the question.

There’s a song and maybe a tartan jacket, depending on how hot the venue.
