BILL Kelly from Burnside has an intriguing match in prospect tomorrow
when he contests the opening round of the #6000 Rothmans championship at
Corals, Hamilton. The 55-year-old former national billiards champion and
beaten Scottish snooker finalist in 1987 faces WPBSA professional
referee Laurie Annandale of Rosyth in the the best-of-five-frame tie.
A familiar name to emerge at the last-64 stage is Paul Marinello of
Edinburgh, the 20-year-old nephew of ex-Hibernian and Arsenal favourite
Peter, who has an extremely tough tournament baptism on hand against
former dual Scottish amateur champion and world title challenger Stuart
Nivison of the Premier club, Dundee.
