SCOTTISH & Southern Energy, the power giant formed by the merger of Scottish Hydro Electric and Southern Electric, has received acceptances for the deal from more than 90% of Southern shareholders.
It has now acceptances for the merger from 90.6% of Southern Electric shareholders and will take steps to compulsorily acquire all Southern shares outstanding. Scottish & Southern shares closed down 3p at 618p yesterday.
