ELECTRONICS giant Bowthorpe has bought the product development division of American wireless and satellite communications group Wireless Telecom for #11.4m.

Wireless Telecom, based in New Jersey, develops electronic

systems used in mobile phones, modems and radio transmitters.

It also develops products that allow satellites to send messages around the world and keep track of aircraft and ship movements.

Wireless Telecom will combine with Bowthorpe's UK subsidiaries Telecom Analysis Systems and Global Simulation Systems.

Bowthorpe, based in Crawley, West Sussex, has more than 100 companies organised into five divisions.
