Raith Rovers were racing against time last night to receive international clearance for newly signed midfielder Wilfrid Nanou from Olym-pique Lyon.

Assistant manager Kenny Black said last night: ''We have been in touch throughout the day with the French club

trying to get the clearance for him so that he can play.''

The SFA were also involved last night in attempting to

rush the clearance through ahead of Raith's clash today with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

However, Raith will be able to include new keeper Samuel Monin, who was previously at Monaco, for that clearance has been received.

Raith are also considering a move for Dundee striker Willie Falconer, but they could hit a snag in their bid to bring Liberian international striker Victor Konwlo to Kirkcaldy.

Black said: ''The lad has been training with us and we thought that he was a free agent. But we have since learned that his previous club in Portugal are looking for a fee. We are checking into this, but if they are wanting a fee we may not get him.

''However, we are working hard to bring in new players for our target has got to be to stay in this first division, and as we also have Shaun Dennis back at the club and John Inglis, we have a lot of experience in the side.

''We know that we face yet another hard game tomorrow, but we have played well in

previous meetings against Inverness.''

Steve Paterson, the Inverness manager, is looking to his side to bounce back following their Scottish Cup defeat in midweek and said: ''Our target now is to get as high as possible in the league.''

Alloa will include on-loan defender John McQuillan from Dundee United, and striker Ross Hamilton has shrugged off a knock and should be fit to come in against Clyde. Manager Terry Christie said: ''We have to get the points from this one.''

Clyde, however, will be in determined mood for they have not beaten Alloa in their last nine meetings. Pat Keogh comes in for the injured Sean McAulay, with manager Allan Maitland commenting: ''Our win against Morton has given us extra confidence and we must build on that.''

BOOKIES' VIEW: Alloa 6-4, Clyde 6-4, draw 13-5.
