MORE than 1400 children had another holiday yesterday as schools in Dunblane remained closed for a second day because of disrupted gas supplies. More than 2500 properties in the town and neighbouring villages of Kinbuck and Ashfield were cut off on Tuesday when a digger sliced through a pipeline. Householders called for compensation after more than 48 hours without gas during the first lowland snows of the winter. A Transco spokeswoman said the delays had been caused by difficulties in accessing properties to ensure gas had been switched off and it was hoped supplies would have been restored to all homes by last night.
