UNBEATEN Arthurlie look to be the on-form team in the Central Region this season after their 4-1 demolition of Maryhill in the quarter-finals of the Sectional League Cup.
Robert Brown put them ahead with Steve Convery adding a second. Substitute Scott McHarg pulled one back for Maryhill at the start of the second half, but Scott Archer restored Arthurlie's two-goal lead.
Steven Quigg made it four to secure a place in the semi-finals against the winners of the Blantyre Vics-Vale of Clyde replay.
Vale of Clyde's Kenneth Leitch put them ahead in 10 minutes, but Blantyre quickly went ahead with goals from Hugh Kennedy and Graham Higgins, only for Gary Copeland to pull Vale level.
Shotts Bon Accord also went through to the semi-finals with a 7-0 win over Kilsyth Rangers, with Craig Cameron knocking in a hat trick, and David Menelaws a double.
Pollok, despite being re-duced to 10 men with the dismissal of Sean Bonnar, had a 2-0 win over newly promoted Lanark United in the Reebok Premier League thanks to second-half goals from Robert Anderson and David Elliott. Lanark had Paul McArthur and Robert Hutchison ordered off.
Benburb introduced new signing, former Ranger Hugh Burns, to their line-up, but it was Robert Donachie who was their hero with a hat trick in their 3-1 win over Petershill. Robert Fraser scored for Petershill.
Auchinleck Talbot went through to the final of the Scarlett Cup with a 2-1 win over local rivals Glenafton.
Glens' Billy Ferguson silenced the home support when he shot past Mark Thompson, but five minutes later, Talbot were awarded a penalty and Billy Thomson slotted home
Glenafton were reduced to 10 men when Rashid Sarwar was red-carded and Talbot's substitute Hugh Finlay took full advantage in 75 minutes when he scored the winner.
Talbot will now meet Beith in the final. Thanks to a Derek Love first-half double, Beith disposed of Kilbirnie.
Ladeside pulled one back when Jamie Bell capitalised on a defensive error by Jim McCann, but any hope of an equaliser went when new signing from Petershill, Joe Gallagher, was ordered off on his debut. Beith had Alan Ewing dismissed in the closing minutes.
A share of the points with Cumnock was enough to keep Kilwinning in pole position in the Ayrshire first division, Jim Duffy equalising an earlier Charlie McLean goal for Cumnock.
Late substitute George Allison of Linlithgow Rose made the most of his opportunity when he scored the first goal in his side's 4-1 win over Armadale Thistle. Results:

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
