fans of Falkirk Football Club can expect a spellbinding performance from their team when it takes on Hearts in tomorrow's Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Ibrox.

The Brockville side's players will weave their magic around the Tynecastle opposition, according to first-division Falkirk's very own witch doctor, Mr Flinn O'Sullivan.

He has conjured up a spell which he claims will take the cash-strapped club to glory.

Using a 700-year-old sword and an ancient dagger, Mr O'Sullivan, 27, cast his ''powerful'' spell at a waterfall in hills outside Falkirk which he says have mystical powers.

He explained yesterday: ''I cast the spell with my sword, Boomfka, and dagger, Diana.

''I used many magic words at the waterfall to bring about cup success for Falkirk and for them to get promotion.''

He is determined to help Falkirk's players who took a 50% cut in wages because of the club's financial crisis.

But Hearts fans needn't be full of doom and gloom. ''My spell is also for Hearts to win the league,'' he explained. ''My neighbour is a Jambo and Hearts manager Jim Jefferies used to be in charge of Falkirk. So, I wanted to do something good for them. My spells are always for good - never evil.

The sorcerer will cheer his team on at Ibrox, but will leave his sword and dagger at home.

Mr O'Sullivan got the ''magic'' weapons back from police this week after he was cleared in a court case.

Charges against him - including possessing the weapons in a public place - were dropped at Falkirk Sheriff Court because of a judge's ruling about the number of court appearances an accused person must make before his trial.

Mr O'Sullivan added: ''I cast a spell to get the case dropped - and it worked. And I'm sure my magic will work wonders for the Bairns.''
