Celtic retained the BP Youth cup with a 3-2 win over Rangers thanks to a last minute penalty from captain John Paul McBride.

Brian Vaugh was denied by two point-blank blocks from keeper Mark Brown, but when the ball rebounded to him for a third time the winger was bundled to the ground and captain McBride stepped forward.

Celtic took the lead in three minutes when a Vaugh cross was headed out and Charlie Mcguinness scored with a volley. David Graham equalised in 22 minutes. Two minutes into the second half Phil McKeown headed Celtic ahead again but in 57 minutes Peter McDonald drove in the equaliser.
