Dundee manager Jocky Scott last night signed Rangers youngster Steven Boyack in a #25,000 deal.

Scott had to increase last week's original offer for the 22-year-old by #5000, but he is convinced he is still getting a bargain.

''I consider this is a good piece of business because it wasn't all that long ago that Rangers turned down a couple of offers of #100,000 for Steven,'' said Scott.

''He can play wide or in midfield and can even turn out as a striker at a push. He also gives us good cover now that Iain Anderson and

Dariusz Adamczuk have said they will be leaving at the end of the season.''

Rangers target Richard Clarke, of Portadown, will be watched on Saturday by an Ibrox scout, and the 19-year-old hopes he can impress and thus secure an #80,000 deal.
