CRAIG BREWSTER, the Dundee United manager, is monitoring Ross Wallace's situation at Celtic after the player was dropped from the pre-season tour of the United States after failing to impress in Poland.

Dundee-born Wallace, who started only 11 first team games last season and failed to score, could now look elsewhere for regular first-team football.

Charlie Mulgrew, who spent most of last season at Tannadice on loan from Celtic, also missed out on the American trip. Brewster wanted Mulgrew to extend his loan deal at United, but this was rejected by Celtic. That could open the door for him to switch his attention to 21-year-old Wallace.

Meanwhile, Macedonian defenderVance Sikov will arrive at Tannadice this morning to begin a week's trial with United. The 6ft 4in centre-half has been recommended by Brewster's contacts in Greece.
