A book of condolence was opened yesterday for people to pay their respects to murdered schoolboy Rory Blackhall.

The book will give the "shocked and saddened" Livingston community the chance to write their own messages of support to his bereaved family.

Joe Thomas, West Lothian provost, was the first person to sign the condolence book yesterday morning.

He said: "Rory's tragic death has . . . deeply affected the wider community. Many people have made their feelings known with floral tributes and messages of sympathy."
