HAVING abandoned your rival newspaper at the other end of the M8 because of its increasingly right-wing, anti-Scottish stance and the often trivial reporting, I have to express some disappointment at your sycophantic reporting over the past couple of days of the arrival of baby Sheridan.

Over half a page of broadsheet on both occasions is somewhat over the top. I wish no ill whatsoever on the couple or their child - the birth of a child is nothing less than the best gift anyone could wish to receive - but I fail to grasp why you decided to report the event in such a manner. Mr Sheridan has a high public profile, but he is an ordinary list MSP who might be accused of being on a charm offensive.

Have no fear, I will not be retreating eastwards, but I do think that your balanced reporting has been compromised on this occasion.
