THE Crown Office has ordered an inquiry into the death more than a

year ago of former Black Watch soldier Sandy Drummond, 33, whose body

was found on a farm track near his home a few miles from St Andrews. His

mother, Mrs Effie Drummond, has offered her life-savings for information

which might lead to the arrest of his killer.

Mrs Drummond last saw her son alive the night before his body was

discovered on June 24 last year near the home he shared with his brother

at Falside Farm, Boarhills. The inquiry is to be held next week at Cupar

Sheriff Court under the Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths Inquiry

(Scotland) Act.
