A YACHTSMAN has come forward with vital information on the murder of

Scots hotel worker Sandra Parkinson.

Police believe he may have photographed Sandra's last walk along a

south Devon coastal path - only minutes before she met her killer.

Experts are today trying to blow up a section of the holiday snap in

the hope that it pictures Sandra.

The 22-year-old redhead was raped, strangled and dumped naked in

undergrowth near the village resort of South Sands, six days ago.

Detectives had asked tourists to hand in videos and snaps in the hope

they could provide clues.

One yachtsman, who was taking pictures of Sharpitor and Starehole Bay

from the sea, has now answered the appeal.

Police will use computer technology to enhance a negative, which shows

a figure walking along the cliff path.

Women

Det Supt Phil Pyke, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: ''We hope to

release the picture tomorrow.

''There is a figure walking along the coastal path and though it is

only a dot it could be Sandra.

''If it isn't Sandra, that person could still have important

information on her murder.''

Mr Pyke is still anxious to trace two women, dressed in 50s-style

clothing who were taking photos near the path last Wednesday.

It's thought they may be members of the Exclusive Brethren religious

sect.

Research

Meanwhile, three Devon detectives travelled to Sandra's family home in

Stevenson, Ayrshire, to speak to friends and ex-boyfriends.

They may also talk to the 42-year-old former boyfriend, a second hand

car salesman, who sold nude pictures of Sandra to a national newspaper

last week.

The man and the paper have been slammed by her family and the police.

Mr Pyke added: ''The team will research every aspect of Sandra's life.

''Anyone who knows her will be interviewed.''

Sandra was murdered as she returned to the Grafton Towers Hotel in

South Sands, Salcombe from an afternoon stroll.
