A PLAN leaked from the German government proposes that an EU "budget commissioner" should take control of Greece's finances.
The draft document suggests that Germany wants to see much tighter control of Greek policy-making on tax and spending.
Greek Education Minister Anna Diamantopoulou described the plan as "the product of a sick imagination".
The European Commission has also voiced its unease at the proposal and said the budget "must remain the full responsibility of the Greek government".
