POLICE are investigating a smash and grab robbery at a pawnbrokers following a similar theft just weeks ago.

Two men wearing motorcycle helmets smashed the window of Robert Biggar Pawnbrokers in Argyle Street, Glasgow, and grabbed several watches and items of jewellery at around 3.10pm yesterday.

They made off on a motorbike, which was later found abandoned in Buccleuch Lane.

Detective Sergeant Colin MacRitchie, of Strathclyde Police, said: "This incident happened very quickly, the men smashed the window, grabbed what they could and then made off."

On July 31, Harvey Thompson Pawnbrokers in the city's Duke Street was targeted by two suspects, who also made off on a motorbike.
