A 44-year-old man has died in hospital after a diving accident on a beach.
Police said the incident happened at Bosta beach on the Great Bernera, which is connected to the Isle of Lewis, at about 5.30pm yesterday.
The man was airlifted by a coastguard helicopter to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, where he later died.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
