LABRADOR Ruby and Andy Rockall are in position at the foot of Ben Nevis as they launch a sponsorship agreement which will raise funds for the Scottish Mountain Rescue teams.

Ian Macleod Distillers has signed up for a three-year deal which will generate funds and raise awareness of the work carried out by Scotland's 26 rescue teams.

The firm has already made a cash injection of £10,000 while 15p from the sale of each bottle of Isle of Skye 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky will be donated to the charity.

Jonathan Hart, chairman of Scottish Mountain Rescue, said the funds would provide essential avalanche training and supply winter rescue equipment such as stretchers and avalanche probes.
