Track legends carry baton
THE Queen's Baton has now reached its 29th Commonwealth country on its tour before the games in Glasgow this summer.
It was carried by Tanzanian athlete Filbert Bayi, left, and Kenya's Kip Keino, now chairman of Kenya's Olympic Committee, as it arrived at the International School of Tangynika in Dar es Salaam at the weekend during a youth sports day.
Bayi is best known for setting the world record for the 1500 metres in 1974 while winning gold at the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand.
A year later he also set a world record in the mile.
