THE musical Wicked has become the highest-grossing production in the history of the King's Theatre in Glasgow.
More than 53,000 tickets have been sold for the show, which plays in Glasgow from Tuesday until May 31.
James Haworth, general manager at King's Theatre, said: "I am extremely proud the King's is bringing this global phenomenon to Scottish theatre fans for the first time.It's no surprise the West End musical has cast its magical spell over Glasgow audiences, but its unrivalled success has surpassed all expectations."
More than 39 million people around the world have seen Wicked, which was inspired by characters in The Wizard of Oz. It has been running for nine years in the West End in London and has been playing on Broadway since 2003.
The show will move to the Edinburgh Playhouse between November and January and then His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen next May.
