CHARLIE Mackay examines a rare bottle of Whistlebinkie whisky before it goes up for auction tomorrow.

The bottle of "Fine Old Whisky", which dates from the late 19th century, is expected to fetch between £8,000 and £12,000 when it goes under the hammer at Bonhams' whisky auction in Edinburgh. It was produced by the Glenesk Distillery in Montrose which was converted from a flax spinning mill in 1897 and operated as a distillery until the outbreak of the First World War.
