Post Office Travel Insurance is to create 75 jobs as it sets up a new business.

The company is setting up Post Office Management Services Ltd for its travel insurance services, to enable it to expand its product range.

It said that the new jobs will ensure that high levels of customer service are maintained whilst handling the anticipated growth in demand.

The jobs will be based at 6 Atlantic Quay in Glasgow and the company expects to create more posts later in the year.

Nick Kennett, CEO of Post Office Management Services said: "This is a big step for Post Office Travel Insurance as we create a new business, Post Office Management Services, to provide our new travel insurance products.

"We have chosen Glasgow as the centre for our plans to allow us to have the ability to grow our business and continue to maintain the high levels of service that our customers expect and demand from us."

Minister for Business Fergus Ewing welcomed the announcement.

He said: "The insurance and financial services sector has long been recognised as one of Scotland's strengths given the skills and experience of our workforce.

"I'm very pleased Post Office is investing in Glasgow and Scotland by creating these 75 new and welcome jobs."
