AN island school with just 12 pupils has managed to persuade some of the UK's top chefs to contribute recipes to a charity cookbook.
Lismore Primary has received recipes from culinary stars such as Mary Berry, Michel Roux Jnr, Marco Pierre White, Delia Smith, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Antony Worrall Thompson.
Between them the chefs have more Michelin stars than the school has pupils.
The island in Loch Linnhe, Argyll and Bute, has a population of under 100.
Primary five and seven pupils at the school have been inundated with recipes from the famous names after writing to them for help.
They are raising funds for an activity weekend away from the tiny island on the west coast of which is home to less than 100 people.
A parent said: "In order to raise money for an activity trip with Stramash, the children decided to publish volume two of their very popular cookbook.
"This time however, they decided to reach for the stars, quite literally.
"The children wrote letters to lots celebrity chefs asking for contributions, and the response has been quite amazing.
"They have received many recipes and some really lovely letters from chefs, including Mary Berry, Michel Roux Jnr, Marco Pierre White, Delia Smith, and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall."
She added: "Antony Worrall Thompson has even asked if he can visit."
