A woman who runs an Edinburgh vintage shop has won a new army of admirers for her prolific ability to masquerade as a different celebrity every day.

Joanna Bizio, who runs the Miss Bizio Couture shop in St Stephen's Street in Stockbridge, has kept her social media and blog followers guessing in recent months by pretending to be everyone from Hollywood heart-throbs Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp to mime artist Marcel Marceau and 18th century Jacobite rebel Bonnie Prince Charlie (below).

She has also had a crack at impersonating legendary beauties such as Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot (below) and Grace Jones - with admittedly mixed results.

The Herald:

But nobody can fault Ms Bizio for trying and in some cases she has shown true ingenuity to create an effect using a combination of make-up, props and her vast array of costumes.

And some of her impersonations of popular history's more colourful characters are simply hilarious.

Ms Bizio took over the shop in St Stephen's Street last December, and in July she began to feed her website with a series of homages - since when she has taken on more than 60 different personas.

"Sometimes when no one is around Miss Bizio grabs some clothes off the rails and dresses up as individuals she has admired from fashion, history, the cinema or music," she wrote in her introductory blog, when she masqueraded as Madonna (below).

Ms Bizio said in a recent interview: “It’s a bit of fun. It’s a way of displaying my clothes more effectively than showing them on a rail or mannequin, while saluting people who have inspired me.”
