Police in Forth Valley have confirmed the name of the man found dead in Falkirk as Russell Robertson.
Mr Robertson's family have today released the following tribute statement through Police Scotland: "We are totally devastated at the loss of Russell. He was a much loved son, brother, nephew and uncle. We would respect privacy from the media at this difficult time."
The body of the 27-year-old was found near to Grahams Road around 5am on Sunday.
Two men, aged 26 and 30, have been arrested in connection with Russell's death and appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.
Officers are not currently seeking anyone else as part of the investigation, but are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Alec Cameron of the Major Investigation Team said: "Our sincere condolences are with Russell's family and friends at this sad time.
"I want to thank the local community for their support and reassure people that we'll use all resources at our disposal to ensure a thorough investigation into Russell's death.
"We're urging anyone who may be able to assist with our inquiries, particularly anyone in the Graham's Road area shortly before 3.30am on Sunday morning, to get in touch as soon as possible."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
