FORMER Celtic star Aiden McGeady has been given permission to amend plans to a palatial mansion he is building in South Lanarkshire.
The 30-year-old winger, who is currently on loan from Everton at Preston North End, had approached planning chiefs at the local authority to make changes to the property plans in Bothwell.

The villa is set on two-and-a-half storeys and changes have been made to the plans for a swimming pool and room layouts. Concerns it would dwarf other neighbouring properties were dismissed in a planning report, with no objections received.
Ireland star McGeady, who left Celtic Park in 2010, for a four-year stint at Spartak Moscow, paid £775,000 for the plot two years ago and construction started in February.
The seven-bedroom mansion boasts a gym, games room with a bar, a cinema room, two lounges and space for six cars.
A source said: “The house is massive and is far bigger than anything else in the area.
“It’s roughly twice the size of all the other houses in that estate and they are already substantial.
“The houses are close to Bothwell Castle and a much- sought after location but it’s only multi-millionaires that are even close to being able to afford to live there.”

The planners’ report added: “Overall, it is considered the proposed alterations to the design of the dwellinghouse raise no issues and that the proposal is acceptable in terms of this policy.”
