A SCHOOLGIRL whose neck was broken in a hit-and-run accident in Glasgow has taken her first steps in hospital.

Fourteen-year-old Roisin Walker was one of five children hit by a car as they stood on the pavement in Castlemilk on the afternoon of March 24.

A 21-year-old man, who is thought to have been the intended target, was also hit.

Roisin’s sister, Jamieleigh, told BBC Scotland yesterday that her sister is recovering and has been on her feet for the first time since she was injured.

She is being treated at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.
