A DECAPITATED corpse found in a park has been revealed to be the body of a Lithuanian man who disappeared a year ago.
The 48-year-old was identified following a series of forensic tests which sought to identify the decomposed remains age and gender.
A teenager raised the alarm after making the gruesome discovery in Hogarth park, Carntyre, Glasgow, on June 11.
It is understood the man went missing last August. Police say they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The body discovered in Hogarth Park near to Edinburgh Road in the east end of Glasgow at around 5.30pm on Monday, June 11, can now be identified as a 48-year-old Lithuanian national who had been missing from the area since August 2017.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
