Richard Branson wants Virgin Atlantic get non-stop flights between London and Perth off the ground sooner rather than later.

The Virgin Atlantic founder said he wants services to start "as soon as possible".

The service would likely be a code share flight with Virgin Australia and Delta Air Lines, and would be a round world service.

Mr Branson first announced his intention to launch the route in 2003 after aquiring several four-engine aircrafts - the same as those used by Singapore Airlines to fly non-stop from Singapore to New York.

However fuel price soared and the route became unviable.

Plans have been restarted this month after airline acquired the far more economical twin-engine aircrafts.
