A study conducted by NASA has shown that a giant cavity two thirds the size of Manhattan is rapidly melting underneath Thwaites Glacier, caused by climate change.  That's 14 billion tons of ice melting over the past three years.

Thwaites Glacier is one of the most dangerous glaciers in the world and researchers from around the world are keen to study it.  According to Britain's Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC), only 28 people have ever set foot on the glacier.
