IT was back in 2003 that Christina Aguilera sparked ticket mania for her tour of the UK – taking in Scotland – thanks to the popularity of her Stripped album.

The announcement of the American singer’s Stripped tour saw her perform 27 shows in Europe, including a gig at the SECC in Glasgow on October 28.

It saw her open the show with the track Dirrty which in itself caused controversy when she released it due to a highly provocative video.

Other songs performed that night included The Voice Within, Can’t Hold Us Down, Lady Marmalade and Fighter.

Miss Aguilera, now 38, went on tour around the US last year, supporting her latest album, Liberation, playing over 20 concerts and marking her first tour in a decade since she took her Back to Basics gig out on the road in 2006. Tracks then included her old breakthrough single, Genie in a Bottle, as well as Dirrty, Ain’t No Other Man and Accelerate.

The Grammy-winning songstress is currently gearing up for a residency in Las Vegas.

Her “Christina Aguilera: The Xperience” will open at Zappos Theatre at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on May 31 for a run of 60 shows.

Two of the songs from her Liberation album, Fall in Line – with Demi Lovato – and Like I Do, both earned nominations at the 2019 Grammys.
