Man dies in Perthshire country estate shooting
A man has died following a shooting in Perthshire.
Officers were alerted in the wake of the incident at around 11.30am on Monday on the Rossie Estate near Inchture, Carse of Gowrie.
Police say it is thought that the man may have died as a result of an accident.
A spokesman for Police Scotland added: "There was no threat to the public and the incident was contained to the immediate area. Inquiries are at an early stage and are continuing, and the man's next of kin have been informed."
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 11.30am to attend an incident at the Rossie Estate.
"We dispatched a rapid response unit, an ambulance crew, a trauma team and a manager to the scene."
