Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director for First Bus in Scotland, has hailed his staff for their commitment and dedication in the delivery of huge improvements across the board after it was announced that bus operator has had no less than 10 entries shortlisted for the upcoming Scottish Transport Awards to be held at the Radison Blu in Glasgow on June 13th.

First Glasgow have been shortlisted for the prestigious Transport Operator of the Year category as well as shortlisted entries in the Best Bus Service, Contribution to Sustainable Transport, most innovative transport project of the year, Transport Partnership of the Year and the Excellence in Travel Information and Marketing categories.

The city’s largest operating company have invested over £30 million in new bus fleet in support of the Glasgow City Council’s Low Emission Zone rollout and other technological innovations such as next stop announcements and an improved Journey planner app have helped to improve the customer offering.

Remarkedly, in the Frontline Employee of the Year category, First Bus account for four of the nine shortlisted entries with two from First Aberdeen and two from First Scotland East. All four nominees have shown incredible feats of heroics for our customers and their shortlisting for this category is the type of recognition they deserve for truly selfless acts that go above and beyond in the line of duty.

The shortlisted categories are: Public Transport Operator of the Year, Transport Partnership of the year, Excellence in Travel Information and Marketing , Best Bus Service for Service 75, Contribution to Sustainable Transport and Most Innovative Transport Project of the Year.
