A WOMAN will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday over the alleged attempted murder of a pensioner in the city. 

Police Scotland confirmed today that the 34-year-old woman has now been charged in connection with the incident which happened on Elliston Avenue in the Priesthill area of Glasgow on Tuesday, August 6.

It comes after The Evening Times revealed that the 76-year-old victim was allegedly attacked on his own doorstep at around 10.30pm.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable. The force provided no further details on his current condition. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can now confirm that a 34-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after a 76-year-old man was seriously injured during an incident in Elliston Avenue, Glasgow around 10.30pm on Tuesday, August 6.

"She is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 12 and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
