The deadline to nominate for the inaugural The Herald Pioneer Awards 2019 has been extended to next week.

The awards, supported by CGI, City of Glasgow College and Newton Property Management, have been created to reward businesses and individuals making meaningful shifts towards a more open, sustainable and innovative future for the Scottish economy.  Due to overwhelming interest, new entries will now be accepted until September 19 at 3pm.

Roy Gardner, Vice Principal Corporate Development & Innovation, City of Glasgow College, who are sponsoring an award which recognises innovation, said: “I would encourage all those innovative companies to submit their nominations.”

There are 11 categories from Research Business Award, where an individual who has made an outstanding contribution or achieved outstanding results in an analytical role in a project relating to sustainability – to our Young Pioneers, which will recognise an individual or group, aged between 18–25 years old, who have made an impact.

Other categories will recognise diversity, collaboration and efforts in STEM.

The awards evening will be on Wednesday, November 13 at the Crowne Plaza, in Glasgow.
