Scottish rock band Frightened Rabbit has issued a plea to "look after yourselves" to mark Suicide Prevention Day, two years on from frontman Scott Hutchison's tragic death.

The musician died in May 2018 and often spoke of his struggles with mental health in interviews.

Speaking on Twitter today, Scott's brother Grant posted: "Losing Scott to depression and ultimately suicide is something I will never comprehend.

"Even reading back that sentence still seems unreal in a way.

"Look after yourself and when you can't, let others look after you because there's always someone who cares."

Scott's family last year launched the charity 'Tiny Changes' in his memory, in a bid to raise awareness about mental health issues and how they can impact young people.

Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day, which aims to provide an opportunity for people across the globe to raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention.

It falls on September 10 every year.
