Thousands of cases of single-malt whisky have been stolen from an industrial estate in Glasgow.

Around 2400 cases of the 12-year malt, estimated to be worth around £87,172, are said to have been taken after thieves targeted a trailer last Friday.

The red, articulated trailer, which has white writing on its side, was stolen at around 9.15pm on Friday, December 11 from Clydesmill Industrial Estate in Carmlye.

Police later found the empty trailer abandoned on Whistleberry Road in Blantyre at around 10am on Tuesday, December 15.

Officers are now looking to speak to anyone who had spotted the trailer between the time it was stolen and the time it was discovered on Tuesday.
