Donald Trump reportedly received the Covid-19 vaccine at the White House in January, but opted to not disclose the information.

According to reports in the US media, both Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump received their vaccines.

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and even Trump's VP Mike Pence publicly received the vaccine.

It is not known why Trump opted to not have his vaccination made public, although some critics have said it was due to Trump wanting to downplay the Covid-19 pandemic during campaigning.

Trump urged members at the Conservative Political Action Committee on Sunday top "go get your shot.”

The news comes as drug maker Merck & Co announced they will help produce rival Johnson & Johnson's newly approved coronavirus vaccine in an effort to expand supply more quickly in the US, a Biden administration official has confirmed.

The announcement came as the White House looks to speed up the production of the single-dose vaccine.

Officials have said J&J faced unexpected production issues with its vaccine and produced only 3.9 million doses before it received emergency use authorisation on Saturday.
