Award-winning Scottish screenwriter Linda McLaughlin is running a free workshop which aims to encourage more women to write for TV.

The Gaiety theatre in Ayr is launching a new programme of introductory workshops, guided by experience female writers.

The first is being held online tonight ( Monday, March 22 at 6pm) and will be hosted by the Glasgow-based actor, playwright and novelist. She will be discussing the differences between writing for stage and writing for television.

Currently writing for River City, she is also working on a screen-play based on her novel-in-progress, Original Sins.
