Four German football stars have become stranded in Edinburgh after their after their flight back to their home country from Iceland was grounded after a distress signal, it has been reported.
Bayern Munich teamates Leon Goretzka, Jamal Musiala, Niklas Sule and Leroy Sane have been grounded in the capital after their flight encountered difficulty while mid-air over Scotland and had to land early on Thursay morning.
The German FA (DFB) confirmed via Twitter: "Safety first. Safe stopover as a precaution in Edinburgh.
"From there, individual onward and return journeys are planned."

However, the Munich quartet have been as yet unable to confirm their onward travel ahead of Saturday's showdown with RB Leipzig.

The German national team was returning after a 4-0 World Cup qualification win in Iceland on Wednesday before departing Keflavik International Airport at 1am.
It is believed that other members of the team have already departed for Germany.
