A possible sighting of a pensioner who went missing more than ten days ago has prompted police to focus search efforts in a Scots village.

Denis Findlay was last seen at Edinburgh Waverley train station at around 5pm on Tuesday, September 14.

He stays in Dunfermline, and police believe he may have travelled to the Oakley area by bus the following morning (September 15).

Now, a man matching Denis' description has been spotted on CCTV in the Saline area - and police are keen to establish if it was the missing pensioner.

They are asking anyone who was in Saline on Thursday, September 23 at around 10.44am and was dressed in blue jeans, brown shoes and a grey fleece to come forward so that police can confirm if the man in question was not Denis.

Sergeant Gayle Stewart from Dunfermline Police Station said: “I would ask the local communities in Comrie, Saline and Oakley to be vigilant and report any sightings of Denis to us.

"He may have looked to find shelter and we’d ask that outbuildings and sheds are checked, especially in more rural areas.

“Anyone who may have private CCTV or doorbell camera systems in these areas should also review any footage and provide anything of relevance to us as soon as possible.”

Those with any information should contact officers via 101 and quote incident number 1115 of September 17, 2021.
