A man is in hospital after being found injured in a Glasgow street following a suspected shooting.

Emergency services were called at around 9.25pm on Saturday, when the 33-year-old was found on Garlieston Road in Barlanark.

The Herald understands a firearm was involved in the incident.

The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, where his condition is not yet known.

Images online show a heavy police presence in the area late last night.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, and are asking anyone who may have information to come forward. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told The Herald: “Around 9.25pm on Saturday, September 25, police attended a report of a man injured in Garlieston Road, Glasgow.

“The 33-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3900 of September 25.”
